In 1972, Jack Cynamon and Alan Green, two tailors from the East End of London, started in business together making clothes. Their skills and strength in clothing design and production resulted in a series of successful womenswear collections. In 1977 they created a range of co-ordinated fashion for the discerning woman. Combining their names and adding a French twist, the Jacques Vert brand was born and shortly afterwards became a public company.
Later Jacques Vert Plc acquired a further three brands: Planet, Precis and Windsmoor.
These four brands under the Jacques Vert umbrella are now retailed in over one thousand outlets, mostly as Concessions within leading department stores, but also as a number of Stand Alones. While the majority of these are located within the UK, the brands are also sold in over eighty stores in Canada and in an expanding number of stores in the Republic of Ireland. Each brand operates its own successful online web store bringing the product directly into the homes of tens of thousands of customers.
